Izard County, Arkansas

Izard County is up in the Ozarks of north-central Arkansas. It has a much slower pace of life and a bunch of natural landscapes being in the Ozarks.
The county seat, Melbourne, has a population of around 1,800. It’s home to Ozarka College, which adds a touch of education to the area. The White River is Izard’s County western boundary. Its tributaries have some of the best trout fishing in the state.
The rugged terrain of the Ozarks provides plenty of opportunities for hiking, hunting, and exploring. Agriculture is still a major part of the local economy, with cattle farming being particularly prominent.
