Knox County, Nebraska

Knox County stretches across the northern edge of Nebraska, bordering South Dakota. The Missouri River forms its northern border. It’s a beautiful area. Rolling hills, deep valleys.
The Niobrara River joins the Missouri here, right at the Niobrara State Park. The Lewis and Clark Lake is also a big draw for tourists. Farming and ranching dominate the economy. Corn, soybeans, cattle. Yep, it’s the usual Nebraska stuff.
There are a few small towns scattered around. Creighton’s the biggest. But “big” is relative out here. The population’s been shrinking for years. Young folks tend to leave for the cities. Those who stay are deeply attached to the land. It’s been in their families for generations.
