McDonald County, Missouri

McDonald County is tucked away in the southwest corner of Missouri. It borders both Arkansas and Oklahoma. It’s Ozark country, with hills, hollers, and clear streams.
This place has seen its share of ups and downs. During the Civil War, it was a “no man’s land”. These days, it’s mostly known for its natural beauty.
The Elk River is a summer hotspot for floating and fishing. Noel, one of the county’s towns, becomes “Christmas City” each December. The post office there hand-stamps thousands of Christmas cards.
