Bates County, Missouri

Bates County sits on the western edge of Missouri, right along the Kansas border. It’s farm country through and through. Rolling hills and open fields stretch far.
The county seat is Butler, a small town with a big heart. You’ll find some of the friendliest folks around here. Historians might recognize Bates County as the site of several Civil War skirmishes.
These days, it’s a peaceful place where you can enjoy fishing and boating at nearby lakes. And if you’re passing through, be sure to try some of the local barbecue. It’s finger-lickin’ good.
