Menard County, Texas

Menard County is right in the middle of Texas. The San Saba River runs through it, green and inviting. Menard is the only real town. It’s small but full of stories. You can still see the old Presidio de San Saba, a Spanish fort from way back when.
Pecans and ranching are big business here. The land is tough, but beautiful in its own way. People here are hardy and independent. They have to be. It’s not an easy place to live, but those who do wouldn’t have it any other way.
U.S. Highway 83 and 190 are the main routes in and out of the county. It’s where the past and present shake hands. History is alive in Menard County, if you know where to look.
