Rains County, Texas

Rains County is located northeast of Dallas. They call Rains County the “Eagle Capital of Texas”. Lake Tawakoni forms the western border. Folks come from all over to fish.
Emory is the only real town. It’s small, but charming. The rest is rural. Really rural. Dairy farms and hay fields are everywhere on the landscape. It’s green most of the year.
The Rains County Fair is a big deal and it has been for over a century. People here are friendly. They wave even if they don’t know you. It’s that kind of place.
