Rock County is up in north-central Nebraska. It’s part of the Sandhills region. Bassett is the county seat. It’s a tiny place with less than 1,000 people.
The Niobrara River carves out the northern border and it creates some spectacular scenery. Newport and Rose are other major communities here.
Ranching is the big deal here. Cattle outnumber people by a long shot. The landscape is all rolling hills and grasslands. It’s beautiful. Community is everything in Rock County.
