Loup County, Nebraska

Loup County is way up in north-central Nebraska. It’s tiny, population-wise. In fact, it’s one of the least populous counties in the state.
Taylor, the county seat, has fewer than 200 people. The Calamus River runs through here and it creates some pretty spectacular scenery. It also has a recreational area with the same name.
Rolling hills, deep valleys. Not what most folks picture when they think of Nebraska. Ranching is the big deal here. Cattle graze on the grassy hills. Just like a lot of rural areas in Nebraska, community is everything. Neighbors still help neighbors. It’s just how things are done.
