Worth County, Georgia
Let’s cap things off with Worth County, a piece of southwest Georgia. This county is about 20 miles east of Albany, with Sylvester as the county seat.
Peanuts are key here. They don’t call Sylvester the “Peanut Capital of the World” for nothing. The annual Georgia Peanut Festival brings folks from all over. You’ll also find some of the best pecan pie in Georgia.
Lake Blackshear is just outside the county to the north. It’s a favorite spot for fishing and boating. Jeffords Park is where locals go to enjoy their summers. The sunsets over the peanut fields are something to see.
