White County is nestled in the northeast Georgia mountains, about an hour and a half from Atlanta. Cleveland, the county seat, is the jumping-off point for adventures.
The Chattahoochee National Forest covers a big chunk of the county, offering endless hiking trails. Helen, a Bavarian-themed town, draws tourists year-round.
The county’s named after Newton County founder James White. Waterfalls are a big deal here, especially Anna Ruby Falls is a must-see. Yonah Mountain looms large, both literally and in local lore.
