Wilcox County, Georgia
Wilcox County is a place where the rhythm of rural Georgia life still resonates. It’s tucked away in the south-central part of the state, far from the urban hustle. Abbeville is the county seat, located in the east of the county.
The Ocmulgee River forms the county’s eastern border. But agriculture is the backbone here, including peanuts, cotton, and watermelons. The Wilcox County Fair each fall is still a big deal, bringing the community together.
There’s also the Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site, which is located just outside the county to the south. Wilcox County’s history and tight-knit community give it a character all its own in Georgia.
