Barren County, Kentucky

Barren County is in south-central Kentucky, not far from Mammoth Cave National Park. Glasgow is the county seat, located right in the center.
Despite its name, Barren County is anything but barren. It’s full of rolling hills and farmland. Also important to note is Barren River Lake is a popular spot for boating and fishing.
The county got its name from early settlers who thought the land looked unproductive. Turns out they were wrong. Agriculture is big here. It’s now where more than 45,000 residents live.
