Bourbon County, Kentucky

The tastiest county in Kansas. Bourbon County is in central Kentucky, northeast of Lexington. About 20,000 people live here, with Paris as the county seat.
Yes, it’s named after the Bourbon family of France, and yes, bourbon whiskey originated here. But despite the name, you’ll find more than just whiskey in Bourbon County.
The county’s also known for its thoroughbred farms and beautiful stone fences. If you’re around in June, check out the Bourbon County Fair in Paris. In fact, it’s been going strong since 1836.
