Anderson County is in the middle of Kentucky, about halfway between Louisville and Lexington. Lawrenceburg is the county seat.
Wild Turkey and Four Roses distilleries are here, making it a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Beaver Lake is great for a day out, with hiking trails and boat rentals.
The county has a knack for producing athletes. Several pro baseball players hail from here. It’s home to about half of the county’s 24,000 residents. The county is named after Richard Clough Anderson Jr., a Kentucky politician.
