Boyd County, Kentucky

Boyd County is in the northeastern corner of Kentucky, right on the Ohio River. About 48,000 people live here. Ashland is the largest city, but Catlettsburg is the county seat.
The county is named after Linn Boyd, a Kentucky congressman. Ashland is part of a tri-state area with Ohio and West Virginia, so you’ll hear some interesting accents.
The Ohio River on the east side provides some nice views and fishing spots. Central Park in Ashland is a local favorite for picnics and concerts. If you’re into history, check out the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center.
