Carson County, Texas

Wide open spaces and big Texas skies. That’s what you’ll find in Carson County. It’s right in the middle of the Panhandle, where the land is flat and the wind never stops blowing. Ironically, Panhandle is also the name of the county seat here.
Ranching is big business here. So is farming and oil. Yep, you can’t forget the oil. Panhandle is home to the Square House Museum. It’s a must-visit if you want to learn about Panhandle history.
Carson County is also where you’ll find a chunk of Route 66. The old highway cuts right through, a reminder of days gone by. It’s quiet out here, but that’s part of the charm.
