Roberts County, Texas

Roberts County is way up in the Texas Panhandle. It’s about as remote as you can get in Texas. Miami is the county seat – that’s “my-AM-uh,” not like the one in Florida.
This is ranch country, pure and simple. Vast stretches of grassland as far as the eye can see. The Canadian River cuts through the northern part of the county. It’s created some impressive canyon lands.
Winters can be brutal here. Blizzards aren’t uncommon. But the people are tougher than the weather. The population is tiny here with less than a thousand folks calling this place home. But what they lack in numbers, they make up for in community spirit.
