Arkansas Counties

Howard County is located in southwestern Arkansas. With a population of around 13,000, it takes pride in its agricultural roots.

Independence County is in north-central Arkansas, with Batesville as its county seat. U.S. Highway 167 runs through the county.

Izard County is up in the Ozarks of north-central Arkansas. It has a much slower pace of life and natural landscapes being in the Ozarks.

Jackson County lies in northeast Arkansas, where the Ozark foothills meet the Delta. The county is primarily agricultural.

Jefferson County is in southeastern Arkansas. It’s home to Pine Bluff, the county seat and a city with an industrial and cultural history.

Johnson County straddles the Arkansas River Valley in western Arkansas. It showcases the diverse beauty of western Arkansas.

Lafayette County is in southwestern Arkansas. It’s one of the state’s smaller counties with a population of just over 6,000 people.

Lawrence County is in northeast Arkansas, where the Ozark foothills meet the Delta. Walnut Ridge is the county seat.

Lee County lies in eastern Arkansas, deep in the Delta. Marianna, the county seat, is home to the annual Marianna Autumn Fest.

Lincoln County is in southeast Arkansas, part of the state’s timber belt. The county is largely rural. Agriculture and forestry are key here.

Little River County is tucked away in the southwest corner of Arkansas. It borders Texas to the south and Oklahoma to the west.

Logan County sits in western Arkansas, with Pigeon Creek National Game Refuge to the south and the Arkansas River to the north.

Lonoke County stretches from the edge of Little Rock’s suburbs into the Grand Prairie region of eastern Arkansas.

Madison County is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks in northwest Arkansas. Huntsville is the county sea, known for its scenic landscapes.

Marion County is located in north-central Arkansas. This area is known for Buffalo National River (America’s first National River).
