Madison County is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks in northwest Arkansas. Huntsville is the county sea. Known for its scenic landscapes and outdoor recreation, the area offers plenty of opportunities to explore nature.
The county is known for its scenic beauty. Ozark National Forest covers much of its southern area. Withrow Springs State Park has hiking, caving, and floating on the War Eagle Creek.
Approximately 17,000 people live in Madison County. Not too much of a surprise but the county is named after James Madison, the fourth President of the United States. The county is also home to the Ozark Highlands Trail, a favorite among hikers.
