Georgia Counties

Clayton County is just south of Atlanta, it’s where city meets county. Jonesboro serves as the county seat, a town from “Gone with the Wind”.

Clinch County is way down in the state’s southeast corner, bordering Florida. Homerville serves as the county seat at Highway 84 and 441.

Keep on driving north from Atlanta and you’ll hit Cobb County. Marietta is the county seat, a town with its own big chicken statue to boot.

Time for a trip to Coffee County, right in the middle of south Georgia. Don’t expect any fancy lattes here, though. This place is pure rural.

Colquitt County is deep in the heart of south Georgia. Moultrie is the county seat of this county, a town that’s all about agriculture.

Columbia County is just northwest of Augusta. It’s where the suburbs sprawl and the American Dream is alive and well.

Cook County sits in the heart of south Georgia, close to the Florida line. Adel is the county seat. Farming drives the economy here.

Coweta County sits in west-central Georgia. It’s named after the Coweta tribe of Creek Native Americans who once called this area home.

At the heart of Georgia lies Crawford County, a place with rural beauty. It’s situated in the central part of the state, just west of Macon.

Crisp County sits in south-central Georgia, about halfway between Macon and Albany. It’s named after Charles Frederick Crisp.

Dade County sits in Georgia’s northwest corner, next to Alabama and Tennessee. Locals once called it the “State of Dade” due to its isolation.

Dawson County is in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. The county seat, Dawsonville, is known for its moonshine and NASCAR history.

Decatur County is in southwest Georgia, right on the Florida border. Bainbridge, the county seat, sits prettily on the Flint River.

DeKalb County is part of the Atlanta metro area, east of the city. Stone Mountain Park, with its massive granite outcropping, is in DeKalb.

Dodge County is in the heart of the state of Georgia. Eastman, the county seat, has a downtown area with historic buildings.
