Virginia Counties

Buchanan County is way out in the westernmost part of Virginia. Coal country. Rugged. Tough. Mountains surround the county.

Buckingham County sits right in the middle of Virginia. It’s part of what locals call “the Heart of Virginia”.

Buena Vista is an independent city in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It’s in between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Maury River.

Campbell County is in the Piedmont region of central Virginia. There’s a lot of history here. Rolling hills everywhere you look.

Caroline County is in the eastern part of Virginia, about halfway between Richmond and Washington D.C. It’s mostly rural and farmland.

Carroll County is up in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Highlands. It’s right on the North Carolina border. This place is all about the outdoors.

Charles City County is a small piece of Virginia with a whole lot of history. It’s east of Richmond, right along the James River.

Charlotte County is down in south-central Virginia. It’s rural. Really rural. But the people here like it that way. Quiet. Peaceful.

Charlottesville is an independent city in central Virginia, located at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It spans about 10 square miles.

Chesapeake is an independent city in southeastern Virginia. It’s in the Hampton Roads region with forests, wetlands, and waterways.

Chesterfield County is just south of Richmond. It’s a place with a rich history and modern appeal. The James and Appomattox rivers border it.

he rolling hills of northern Virginia are home to Clarke County. It’s quiet here. Peaceful. You can see the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east.

Colonial Heights is an independent city in central Virginia, located just south of Richmond. It sits along the Appomattox River.

Covington is an independent city in the western part of Virginia, near the Allegheny Highlands. The city is situated along the Jackson River.

Craig County sits in the Appalachian Mountains of western Virginia. The Jefferson National Forest covers a big chunk of the county.
