Dallas County is in roughly central Alabama. Selma is the county seat with about 40,000 people living in the entire county.
It played a big role in the Civil Rights Movement. The Selma to Montgomery march started here. The Edmund Pettus Bridge is famous for “Bloody Sunday”.
On a lighter note, they have a big jubilee every year with lots of music and food. U.S. Highway 231 is the main thoroughfare here. The tea is sweet in Dallas County, and the stories are sweeter.
