Choctaw County, Alabama

Choctaw County is in southwest Alabama, right on the Mississippi line. Butler is the county seat. It’s a small place with only about 13,000 folks in total.
The Tombigbee River forms its eastern border. Good for fishing, bad for saying five times fast. Logging’s been big here forever. Lots of pine trees. Not much else, honestly. It’s rural. Really rural.
The county got its name from the Choctaw people. U.S. Highway 84 is the main road through town. Hunting is a popular pastime, with plenty of deer and turkey to go around.
