Autauga County, Alabama
Autauga County sits in central Alabama, just northwest of Montgomery. It’s home to Prattville, known as “The Fountain City” due to its many artesian wells.
The county was named after Autauga Creek, which flows through it. Bass fishing is big here. The county’s founder Daniel Pratt built a huge cotton gin factory in the 1800s.
Today, about 60,000 people call Autauga home. It has a mix of suburban and rural vibes. Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has a stop here. Canoes and kayaks are a common sight on the creek.
