Falls County, Texas

Falls County is right in the heart of Texas, about halfway between Dallas and Austin. Marlin, the county seat, was once a booming spa town. People came from all over to soak in its hot mineral waters.
These days, things are quieter. Agriculture is king here. Cotton fields are common here. The county is named after a waterfall on the Brazos that doesn’t exist anymore. Talk about irony for a county name.
The county has lots of rivers flowing through it. That’s why nature lovers flock to the county for its excellent fishing and hunting. The Brazos River is the main watercourse, creating some pretty spectacular scenery. It’s where time seems to move a little slower.
