Milam County, Texas

Milam County stretches across the Blackland Prairie in Central Texas. The San Gabriel River and Little River meet here, creating some prime fishing spots. The county seat belongs to Cameron.
Rockdale, the biggest town, used to be all about coal mining. Now it’s reinventing itself. Agriculture is still a big deal here. You’ll see plenty of corn and cotton fields.
The county has a rich history. People here are down-to-earth and welcoming. Fall brings the Rockdale Fair and Rodeo, always a good time. It’s the kind of place where Friday night football is practically a religion.
