Fayette County, Texas

Fayette County lies in south central Texas, about halfway between Houston and Austin. La Grange is the county seat and sits nicely on the Colorado River.
The county’s known for its painted churches. They’re absolutely stunning. Seriously, look them up. Round Top, a tiny town in the county, hosts a world-famous antique fair twice a year.
The Monument Hill and Kreische Brewery State Historic Sites offer a peek into the county’s past. Fayette was part of Stephen F. Austin’s original colony. That’s some deep Texas roots. The rolling hills and oak trees make for some pretty country.
