Indiana County sits in western Pennsylvania, about an hour east of Pittsburgh. It’s known as the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World”. No joke. The county pumps out over a million trees each year.
You can’t talk about Indiana County without mentioning Jimmy Stewart. The famous actor was born here, and there’s an airport and museum dedicated to him.
IUP, or Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is a public research university in the area. Visitors love the Ghost Town Trail for biking and hiking. Yellow Creek State Park is especially great for a day out on the water.
