Armstrong County is located in western Pennsylvania, northeast of Pittsburgh. It’s named after John Armstrong, a general in the Continental Army.
The Allegheny River runs right through it, shaping the landscape and local culture. Kittanning is the county seat and has all sorts of historic buildings.
