Martin County, Texas

Martin County is out in West Texas. It’s oil country, plain and simple. Stanton, the county seat, is small but mighty. The Old Martin County Courthouse is a real eye-catcher. It’s all red brick and white stone.
This place knows how to do fairs. The Martin County Fair and Rodeo draws folks from all around. It’s hot here. Bone-dry too. But the people are warm and welcoming.
Agriculture is still important. You’ll see cotton fields alongside the oil wells. The sunsets are something else. All orange and purple, stretching across the big Texas sky. It’s a tough land, but the folks here wouldn’t have it any other way.
