Mason County is up in northern Kentucky, right on the Ohio River. Maysville, the county seat, is where Rosemary Clooney (George’s aunt) got her start. They actually have a little museum dedicated to her.
The county’s location along U.S. Route 68 makes it a convenient spot. The county has a scenic countryside with farms and rolling hills.
The Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge is an iconic landmark, linking Kentucky to Ohio. Mason County is also known for its role in the Underground Railroad, with several sites.
