Jewell County, Kansas

Jewell County is way up in north-central Kansas. U.S. Highway 36 runs through the county, linking it to nearby Nebraska and other parts of Kansas.
With a population of just over 2,800, this is one of those places where you can really get to know your neighbors. Mankato is the county seat.
Farming is the main gig here. Wheat, corn, soybeans, you name it. The Lovewell Reservoir and the surrounding Lovewell State Park is popular in summer. But Jewell County is also about as rural as it gets.
