Pike County is in southwestern Arkansas with Murfreesboro as the county seat. U.S. Highway 70 passes through Murfreesboro, connecting it to larger towns like Hot Springs.
It’s where you’ll find one of the state’s most unique attractions: the Crater of Diamonds State Park. It draws visitors from all over who come to dig for gemstones and diamonds at the park. It’s the only diamond-producing site in the world that’s open to the public.
The Little Missouri River winds through the county. Timber and agriculture are important industries here, with vast forests and fields covering much of the county.
