Sherman County, Oregon

Sherman County is out in north-central Oregon. The John Day River carves through its eastern edge. You’ll find lots of wheat and wind turbines here, churning out green energy.
Moro is the county seat, but it has barely 300 people. But what Sherman lacks in population, it makes up for in charm. Interstate 84 and Columbia River form its northern border.
It’s named after General William Tecumseh Sherman. The county’s big on wheat and wind power. Visitors come for the stargazing and solitude. Not necessarily in that order.
