Just northeast of Birmingham, St. Clair County is a rapidly growing area. The county has two seats, Ashville and Pell City.
On the outer fringes of Birmingham, St. Clair County’s population hovers around 96,000. Interstate 20, 59 and U.S. Highway 231 provide easy access to Birmingham and Atlanta.
Logan Martin Lake, part of the Coosa River system, dominates the eastern section and local culture. The International Motorsports Hall of Fame sits just outside the county near Talladega Superspeedway.
