US Counties

Franklin County straddles the Arkansas River Valley in western Arkansas. It has two county seats, which are Ozark and Charleston.

Fulton County sits in north-central Arkansas, deep in the Ozarks. Salem, the county seat, is a small town with a big heart.

Garland County is home to Hot Springs, one of Arkansas’s biggest tourist destinations. The county is famous for its thermal springs.

Grant County sits in central Arkansas, just south of Little Rock. The county is heavily forested, with timber being a major industry.

Greene County is in northeast Arkansas, part of the state’s agricultural heartland. Paragould is the county seat here.

Hempstead County is located in southwest Arkansas. Hope is the county seat. It’s famous for being the birthplace of President Bill Clinton.

Hot Spring County is located in central Arkansas. This is not to be confused with Hot Springs in Garland County.

Howard County is located in southwestern Arkansas. With a population of around 13,000, it takes pride in its agricultural roots.

Independence County is in north-central Arkansas, with Batesville as its county seat. U.S. Highway 167 runs through the county.

Izard County is up in the Ozarks of north-central Arkansas. It has a much slower pace of life and natural landscapes being in the Ozarks.

Jackson County lies in northeast Arkansas, where the Ozark foothills meet the Delta. The county is primarily agricultural.

Jefferson County is in southeastern Arkansas. It’s home to Pine Bluff, the county seat and a city with an industrial and cultural history.

Johnson County straddles the Arkansas River Valley in western Arkansas. It showcases the diverse beauty of western Arkansas.

Lafayette County is in southwestern Arkansas. It’s one of the state’s smaller counties with a population of just over 6,000 people.

Lawrence County is in northeast Arkansas, where the Ozark foothills meet the Delta. Walnut Ridge is the county seat.
