Franklin County, Arkansas
Franklin County straddles the Arkansas River Valley in western Arkansas. It’s unique in having two county seats, which are Ozark and Charleston.
The county is known for its scenic beauty, with the Ozark National Forest covering much of the northern half. White Oak Park offers camping, hiking, and water activities.
Altus, a small town in the county, is the center of Arkansas’s wine country. Each year, the Altus Grape Festival celebrates the area’s wine-making tradition with tastings, music, and good ol’ fashioned grape stomping.
