Albany County, Wyoming

Albany County sits in southeastern Wyoming, bordering Colorado. It’s home to Laramie and the University of Wyoming. The county has rolling prairies and snow-capped peaks in the Medicine Bow Mountains.
You can hike, fish, or just chill by a mountain lake. Historians dig the area too. There’s the Wyoming Territorial Prison, where Butch Cassidy once cooled his heels.
Ranching is still big business. Winters are tough, but locals embrace the cold with skiing and ice fishing. You’ll see more pronghorn than people in some parts. It’s where the Old West meets modern life.
