Miami County is in eastern Kansas, not far from Kansas City. The county seat, Paola, has a historic downtown that’s the heart of the community.
U.S. Highway 169 runs right through, making it an easy commute to Kansas City. The population is around 35,000, with a mix of agriculture and suburban neighborhoods.
Hillsdale Lake is a local favorite for boating and camping. You can find it in the northwest part of the county, including Hillsdale State Park. If you want a taste of country living with city amenities nearby, Miami County could be a good fit.
