Lawrence County is way up in eastern Kentucky, right on the West Virginia border. Louisa is the county seat and sits where the Big Sandy and Levisa Fork rivers meet.
The county’s got some nice parks for camping and fishing. There’s a cool old swinging bridge if you’re feeling brave.
With a population of about 16,000, Lawrence County is quiet. Yatesville Lake State Park is a local favorite. U.S. Route 23, also known as the Country Music Highway, runs through the county.
