Texas Counties

Denton County is just north of Dallas-Fort Worth. The county’s grown like crazy in recent years. New subdivisions keep popping up.

DeWitt County sits in the heart of South Texas. Cuero is the county seat and is known as the “Turkey Capital of the World”. No joke.

The Croton Breaks. That’s what they call the rugged canyons in Dickens County. This part of the Texas Plains sits east of Lubbock.

Dimmit County is down in South Texas, almost touching the Mexican border. It’s brush country. Mesquite, prickly pear, you name it.

Wide-open spaces. That’s Donley County. It’s out in the Texas Panhandle, where the land is typically flat. Clarendon is the county seat.

Duval County has stories to tell. It’s down in South Texas, about an hour west of Corpus Christi. San Diego is the county seat.

Eastland County is right in the heart of Texas. It’s about halfway between Fort Worth and Abilene. Eastland is the biggest town in the county.

Ector County is out in West Texas, where the Permian Basin stretches wide. Odessa is the heart of it all. It’s an oil county.

Edwards County is Texas Hill Country at its wildest. It’s close to San Antonio, but it feels a world away. Rocksprings is the only real town.

El Paso County sits at the westernmost tip of Texas, right on the New Mexico and Mexico borders. It’s one of the most populous in the state.

Ellis County is south of Dallas. It’s a taste of small-town Texas with a side of big city convenience. Waxahachie is the county seat.

Erath County is in north central Texas, southwest of Dallas. It’s where the Bosque River winds its way through rolling hills.

Falls County is right in the heart of Texas, about halfway between Dallas and Austin. Marlin, the county seat, was once a booming spa town.

Fannin County is situated in North Texas along the Red River, bordering Oklahoma. Bonham is the county seat.

Fayette County lies in south central Texas, near Houston and Austin. La Grange is the county seat and sits nicely on the Colorado River.
