Dimmit County, Texas

Dimmit County is down in South Texas, almost touching the Mexican border. It’s brush country. Mesquite, prickly pear, you name it. The Nueces River cuts through the northeast corner. It’s a lifeline in these parts.
Carrizo Springs is the biggest town and county seat. But that’s not saying much because the whole county only has about 10,000 folks. Hunting is big here. Deer season brings a flood of out-of-towners.
Oil’s been the economic engine for years. Boom and bust, you know how it goes. Winters are mild. Summers? Hot as blazes. People here are tough. They have to be. It’s not an easy place to live, but it’s home.
