Cheyenne County, Kansas
Cheyenne County sits way up in the northwest corner of Kansas, about as far as you can get from KC without leaving the state.
It’s home to only about 2,500 people, but what it lacks in population it makes up for in character. St. Francis, the county seat, hosts a motorcycle rally each summer that brings in riders from all over.
The deep, carved canyons at Arikaree Breaks look more like Arizona than Kansas. It’s one of those places where the sky feels bigger somehow, and the locals have got that classic Midwest friendliness.
