Daviess County sits in northwest Missouri, about an hour’s drive northeast of Kansas City. It’s farm country. Rolling hills, corn fields, and grazing cattle define the landscape.
The Grand River cuts through the southern part of the county. It’s a popular spot for fishing and floating on a hot summer day.
Gallatin serves as the county seat with around 1,800 folks. Amish communities add a unique cultural flavor to the area. Jamesport is known as the largest Amish settlement west of the Mississippi.
