Elk County, Pennsylvania

Elk Location Map Pennsylvania

Elk County is way up in north-central Pennsylvania. The name’s no coincidence. This place is famous for its elk herd. People come from all over to see these majestic creatures.

It’s not exactly a bustling metropolis, but that’s part of its charm. Ridgway, the county seat, feels like a step back in time with its Victorian architecture. But nature is the real draw here though.

The Allegheny National Forest covers a good chunk of the western half. Hikers, campers, and visitors, this is your paradise. The Clarion River’s great for kayaking if that’s your thing. It’s quiet. Really quiet. But that’s what folks here like about it.
