Forest County, Pennsylvania

Forest County sits in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania. It’s tiny and is one of the least populous counties in the state. But what it lacks in people, it makes up for in trees. The Allegheny National Forest covers a huge chunk of the county.
Tionesta, the county seat, is home to about 500 folks. It’s quiet here. Really quiet. Hunting and fishing are big draws. The Allegheny River cuts through the county, offering some prime canoeing spots.
Winters are harsh, but the fall foliage is spectacular. There’s not much nightlife, unless you count stargazing. For some, it’s too remote. For others, it’s paradise. Forest County is the place to go when you want to unplug and breathe some seriously fresh air.
