McKean County, Pennsylvania

McKean County sits up in the northern tier of Pennsylvania, bordering New York. It’s rugged and beautiful. The Allegheny National Forest covers a big chunk of the western section.
Oil made this place boom in the late 1800s. These days, it’s all about tourism and manufacturing. Zippo lighters? They’re made right here in Bradford.
The county’s named after Thomas McKean, who signed the Declaration of Independence. Kinzua Bridge State Park has an old railroad bridge turned into a skywalk. Pretty cool. The county’s full of small towns with a lot of character.
