Haines Borough is in Southeast Alaska, nestled between mountains and the sea. It’s a small place with about 2,500 people. The town of Haines is known for its arts scene and bald eagle preserve.
Fishing and tourism are the main industries here. The borough is only accessible by air or sea, with no roads connecting it to the rest of Alaska. Haines has a milder climate than much of Alaska, thanks to ocean currents.

The borough is popular with cruise ships in summer. Haines is also famous for its brewery and distillery.
