Denali Borough, Alaska

Denali Borough is in the heart of Alaska, home to North America’s tallest peak, Denali. The borough covers a huge area but has only about 2,000 people. Most folks live in or near the small town of Healy.
Denali National Park brings in tons of visitors each summer to see wildlife and the mountain. The park road is the only one in the borough, and most of the land is wild backcountry. Mining used to be big here, but now tourism is the main business.
Winters are long and dark, while summer brings nearly endless daylight. The area is known for its gorgeous scenery, with rivers, mountains, and forests. Despite being remote, the borough has a small but tight-knit community. Outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and dog sledding are popular with locals and tourists.
