Jefferson County, Kansas
Jefferson County is in northeast Kansas. It’s not far from Topeka. Oskaloosa is the county seat. It’s a mix of farmland and bedroom communities for folks who work in Topeka or Lawrence.
Perry Lake is a big draw for fishing and boating. It’s actually the fourth largest lake in the state. The surrounding Perry State Park is beautiful too.
The county has a bunch of small towns with that classic Midwest feel. U.S. Highway 59 and 24 run through the county with a population of around 19,000 people. There’s some decent hunting in the county too.
